Change of Shadowlands release date

As it became known yesterday, Blizzard has delayed release of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion. New release date is yet unknown but we know for sure it will be released before the end of 2020.

According to Blizzard, most of the content is ready, but there are still flaws in the balance and some core points of the game, which will take some time to change. They are confident in the great potential of the new expansion, so they do not want to release an unfinished product. Blizzard does not want to deviate from their quality standards and therefore had to postpone the release of Shadowlands to a later date.

Such a lag behind the planned deadlines is mainly due to the forced transition to remote work and the large number of sick leave associated with the pandemic around the world.

But the postponement of the Shadowlands release date did not affect the release of the pre-patch, it is scheduled for October 13, 2020. This means that with its release the PvP season will end, the Mythic+ Season will end as well and rewards for them, many items, mounts and activities will no longer be available. The pre-patch will add an updated character leveling system, an introduction to Exile’s Reach and new options for customizing your characters. The developers’ plan is to smoothly lead players to the new continent – the Shadowlands – by gradually adding content in which you will have to defend Azeroth from the constant attacks of the Scourge.

We advise you to check out everything that you are still missing (mounts, transmogs, achievements, pets, items, and more), since there are less than two weeks left to prepare for the prepatch, and much of the BFA content will not be available after October 13th. Как утверждают разработчики большая часть контента уже готова, но еще имеются недоработки в балансе и некоторых ключевых моментах дополнения на изменение которых потребуется еще какое-то время. Они уверенны в большом потенциале нового дополнения, поэтому не хотят выпускать не доработанный продукт. Компания Blizzard не хочет отступать от своих стандартов качества и поэтому была вынуждена перенести выход Shadowlands на более поздний срок.

Такое отставание от запланированных сроков по большей части связано с вынужденным переходом на удаленную работу и большим количеством больничных связанных с эпидемией во всем мире.

Но перенос даты релиза Shadowlands не повлияло на выход препатча, он запланирован на 13 октября 2020 года. А это означает, что с его выходом закончится PvP сезон, сезон подземелий + BFA награды за них, многие предметы, маунты и активности станут более недоступны. В препатче будет добавлена обновленная система развития персонажей, вводная часть на Острове Изгнанников и новые варианты кастомизации ваших персонажей. Разработчики планируют плавно подвести игроков к новому миру Темных Земель постепенно добавляя контент в котором придется защищать Азерот от постоянных нападений Плети.

Мы советуем вам проверить все то, что вам еще не хватает (маунты, трансмогрификации, достижения, питомцы, предметы и другое), так как на подготовку к препатчу осталось менее двух недель, а многое из контента BFA станет не доступно после 13 октября.
